Terms & Conditions
Last updated: October 14, 2026
Welcome to CANDID. These terms are the agreement between you and John Lif LLC ("CANDID", "we", "us"), for using getcandidcards.com and buying from us. By using the site or placing an order, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Please read section 11 (disputes) carefully. It explains how we will resolve a disagreement, including an agreement to individual arbitration and a waiver of class actions, and how you can opt out.
1. Who can buy
CANDID is a game for ages 14 and up. To place an order, create an account, or join our affiliate program, you must be at least 18, or have a parent or guardian do it with you. You agree that the information you give us (name, email, address, payment) is accurate and yours to use.
2. Orders
- Your order is an offer to buy. We accept it when we ship it. Until then we may cancel an order, for example if an item is out of stock, a price was listed in error, or we suspect fraud. If we cancel, we refund you in full.
- Want to change or cancel? Email support@getcandidcards.com as soon as you can. Orders usually leave our warehouse within 1 to 2 business days, and once an order has shipped we cannot change it.
- We may limit quantities per customer. Orders that look like reselling without a wholesale account may be cancelled or moved to wholesale pricing.
3. Prices, discounts and promotions
- Prices are in U.S. dollars and shown on the product page and in the cart. A single deck is currently $29.
- Bundle pricing applies automatically in the cart, no code needed: 2 decks for $50, 4 decks for $80, and 5 or more decks at about $20 each. We may change or end these offers at any time; the price in your cart at checkout is the price you pay.
- Only one automatic bundle discount applies per order. Discount codes (for example welcome, affiliate or partner codes) cannot be combined with each other or with bundle pricing unless the checkout shows they combine. Codes have no cash value, cannot be resold, and may expire or be limited to one use per customer.
- If we list a wrong price by mistake, we may cancel the order and refund you, or offer it to you at the correct price.
- Sales tax is added where the law requires it, based on your shipping address, and shown before you pay.
- Payment is taken when you place your order, through Shopify's secure checkout (cards, Shop Pay, Shop Pay Installments and any other method shown at checkout). If you use Shop Pay Installments, Affirm's terms also apply.
4. Shipping
- United States: orders ship from our warehouse in Colorado within 1 to 2 business days and usually arrive 2 to 5 business days later. Standard shipping is free on orders of $30 or more after discounts (so any order of 2 or more decks); below that it is $3. Priority shipping is $10. Rates and options are shown at checkout.
- International: we ship to the countries listed at checkout (including Canada, the UK, much of the EU, Australia and Japan), at the carrier rate shown at checkout. You are the importer of record. Customs duties, import taxes (such as VAT or GST) and brokerage fees your country charges are not included in our price or shipping charge, are collected by the carrier or your customs office, and are your responsibility. If you refuse a package because of these charges, we refund the order minus the original shipping cost and any return or disposal fees the carrier charges us.
- You get a tracking link by email when your order ships. Delivery estimates are estimates, not guarantees.
- Risk of loss passes to you when the carrier delivers to the address you gave us. Lost, stolen or damaged in transit? Email us within 14 days of the delivery date (or the expected delivery date if it never arrives) with your order number and a photo for damage, and we will send a replacement or refund. Please double-check your address; if an order is returned because of a wrong address, we can reship it once you pay the new shipping cost.
5. Returns and refunds
30-day money-back guarantee. We want you to love the deck. If CANDID is not what you expected, email support@getcandidcards.com within 30 days of delivery with your order number, and we will make it right. No interrogation required.
- Opened decks are fine. You do not need to keep the tin sealed.
- Returns are free. If we ask you to send the deck back, we email you a prepaid return label (U.S. orders). For international orders, or when a return is not worth the postage, we may simply tell you to keep the deck.
- Refunds go back to your original payment method within 5 business days of our receiving the return, or of our approving the refund if we tell you to keep the deck. Your bank may take a few more days to show it.
- What is refunded: the price you paid for the decks and the tax on them. Original shipping charges are refunded only if the deck arrived damaged or defective or we made a mistake. Duties and import taxes on international orders are not refundable by us; you may be able to reclaim them from your customs office.
- Bundles and discounts: refunds are based on what you actually paid. If you return part of a bundle, we refund the difference between what you paid and the regular price of the decks you keep.
- Damaged, defective or wrong item: tell us within 30 days of delivery, with a photo, and we will send a replacement or a full refund including shipping, whichever you prefer.
Gifts: if you received CANDID as a gift, we can refund the purchaser, or send you a replacement for a damaged deck.
Orders placed through Amazon, Faire or a retail store follow that seller's return policy.
6. Wholesale
Buying for a shop, restaurant, hotel or event? Wholesale orders are not covered by sections 3 and 5. Wholesale pricing, minimums, payment terms (net 60 through Faire, net 30 for approved direct accounts) and policies are on our Wholesale page, on Faire, or in your written wholesale agreement or invoice, which control if they conflict with these terms.
7. Affiliate program
Our affiliate program is run through BixGrow. Commission rates, cookie windows, payout rules and the conduct rules for affiliates (for example, no bidding on our brand name in search ads, no coupon-site or browser-extension promotion, and honest disclosure of the relationship as required by the FTC) are in the program terms you accept when you sign up at candid.bixgrow.com. Those program terms control for affiliates. We can approve, decline, or end any affiliate account, and withhold commission on orders that are cancelled, refunded, or fraudulent.
8. Intellectual property
- CANDID is a registered trademark of John Lif LLC (U.S. Reg. No. 8411078). The CANDID deck, including its questions, illustrations and design, is protected by U.S. copyright (Reg. No. VA 2-526-155). The illustrations are by Kate Bonner and owned by John Lif LLC.
- Everything on this site (text, questions, images, logos, video, and design) belongs to John Lif LLC or its licensors. You may share links and screenshots for personal, non-commercial use, and press and retail partners may use our press kit as described on the Press page. Anything else, including copying the questions into another product, printing your own decks, or using our name or logo to sell something, needs our written permission.
- Buying a deck gives you the deck, not the rights to its content.
9. Reviews, photos and messages you send us
When you post a review, tag us, or send us photos or ideas, you confirm they are yours to share and honest, and you give us a free, non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual license to use, copy, show and adapt them (with your name or handle as you posted it) on our site, social media, marketplaces and ads. We may remove reviews that are spam, off-topic, abusive, or not about our product. We do not pay for positive reviews. If you send us a question idea, we may use it without owing you anything.
10. Using the site
You agree not to: break the law using the site; try to get into parts of the site or systems you are not authorized to use; interfere with the site's security or performance; scrape it in a way that overloads it; use bots to buy up stock; or misuse discount codes. We may suspend access or cancel orders if you do.
Automated shopping assistants and AI agents are welcome to read the site and to place orders on behalf of a real customer through the channels we publish (see /pages/llms); the customer they act for is bound by these terms.
11. Disputes
Talk to us first. Most problems get solved by email. Before filing any claim, send a description of the problem and what you want to support@getcandidcards.com. We will try to resolve it within 30 days.
Arbitration. If we cannot resolve it, you and we agree that any dispute arising from these terms, the site, or a purchase will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, instead of in court. The arbitration is seated in New York, New York. Hearings may be held by video or phone, or, if the arbitrator decides an in-person hearing is needed, in the county where you live or another place we both agree on. For claims under $10,000 we will pay the filing and arbitrator fees beyond what you would pay to file in court. The arbitrator can award the same individual relief a court could.
Exceptions. Either of us may take a claim to small claims court if it qualifies. Either of us may go to court to protect trademarks, copyrights, or other intellectual property.
No class actions. Claims may be brought only individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in a class, collective, or representative action, and the arbitrator may not combine claims of different people. If this sentence is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim goes to court, not to class arbitration.
Opt out. You can opt out of arbitration and the class waiver by emailing support@getcandidcards.com within 30 days of your first purchase or of these terms being posted, with your name, email, and "Arbitration opt-out". Opting out does not affect anything else in these terms.
Court. Any claim not in arbitration or small claims court will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and both of us agree to those courts' jurisdiction.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York and applicable U.S. federal law (including the Federal Arbitration Act for section 11), without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Wherever you live, you keep any consumer protections your local law gives you that cannot be waived.
13. Warranties and liability
- We stand behind our decks with the 30-day money-back guarantee in section 5. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, the site and products are provided "as is", without other warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
- CANDID is a conversation game. The questions are meant to be fun and sometimes personal; you choose what to answer and who to play with. We are not responsible for how a conversation goes.
- To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the order the claim is about. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
- You agree to cover our reasonable costs if a claim is brought against us because you broke these terms or the law.
14. Other things
- Privacy: our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and is part of these terms.
- Changes: we may update these terms and will change the date at the top. The terms in place when you place an order apply to that order.
- Events beyond our control: we are not responsible for delays caused by carriers, weather, strikes, supply problems or similar events.
- Whole agreement: these terms, the Privacy Policy, and anything shown at checkout are the whole agreement for retail purchases. If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term right away is not a waiver.
- Assignment: we may transfer these terms to a company that takes over CANDID (for example, a new CANDID LLC). You may not transfer them without our consent.
- Electronic communications: you agree we can send order and legal notices by email.
